Free Piano Course

A Free Piano Course?

Offering a piano course to children and adults in your community is a great way to turn something you love, music, into a substantial source of income for you and your family. You can accomplish this without having to leave home in the process. Many people decide to offer a private piano course to students from their homes, but not all are successful in their endeavor to do so. If you have intentions or hopes of earning a decent wage from teaching a piano course in your home, it is vitally important that you have a viable business plan from the very beginning. The longer you work the plan, the more effective it will be. The more effective your plan, the more money you will make.

Offering a free piano course to potential students is a great way to spread the word about your business. This is also an easy way to find out if you click with a student or a student clicks with you. You obviously do not have to offer a month's service or something quite so drastic. Simply offering one free lesson should provide an excellent indicator of the student’s enjoyment of the instrument, natural ability, and ear for music (this is essential if you plan on ear training your students). This also offers an opportunity to cover some of the basics of playing piano. Additionally, people like freebies and will be more than willing to try your lesson and keep coming back because you offered one lesson free. It's a great way to get people to come in the door. The rest is up to you and your talented teaching abilities.

Having an effective business plan from the start will help you make even more money than you probably hoped to make. Even if you are offering an occasional free piano course to a potential student your business will remain profitable. By planning your time more carefully and being accountable for the money you earn, the time you spend earning it, and the way you advertise your business (even if you are only holding yourself accountable) you are treating your business like an actual business rather than a hobby or pastime. Treating your business as a hobby is what many potential piano teachers end up doing. This is also the very reason that many of them fail to produce a viable income from the piano lessons they offer.

Most people would give anything in the world in order to be able to earn an income from something that they genuinely enjoy doing. Most pianists really enjoy playing the piano and teaching a piano course is a great way for you as a pianist to continue to improve your own skills, while helping someone else discover their talents and skills. It's a great way to make a living if this is something you truly love to do. If you decide that teaching a piano course is for you, I highly suggest that you sit down and write out a business plan. Be sure that your plan is based on realistic facts, figures, and expenses and go from there. By doing this you are giving your business a real chance to get off the ground rather than limiting yourself and the growth of your business. Teaching a piano course can bring in a substantial income.
