There are many piano teaching aids on the market today. The trick is always in finding the specific piano teaching aids that you feel you will be able to make the most use of. As a teacher, you will constantly find yourself balancing between the aids and devices, which seem really neat and those that will actually be useful. When teaching piano make sure that the piano teaching aids you decide to use are aids that can fairly easily replaced and aren't terribly expensive.




All piano teachers must learn to get the most bang for their buck. Piano teaching aids that you are purchasing for your studio are purchased with funds that would be your profit. While they are often necessary expenses and will greatly aid your ability to teach and retain students, you must view them from a realistic economic point of view as well. If something that cost less will achieve the same results but without bells and whistles, skip the bells and whistles.




Some of the best piano teaching aids that can be found inexpensively are the following: flash cards, finger charts, key stickers, games, and motivational stickers. You might also want to find a little book of very easy beginner songs that you can introduce early on to students who are growing frustrated with learning musical notations, scales, and arpeggios.




Piano teaching aids can be great encouragement to students and a lot of fun for them, but be careful that the teaching aids don't overtake actual keyboard time. The time spent playing the piano is what is going to keep your students feeling a sense of accomplishment and their parents feeling as though they are getting their money's worth. Teaching aids are only meant to supplement the actual learning that is taking place during each and every lesson.




As your students' talents grow so will your need for things that will continuously motivate them to achieve more. This is where they challenges come into play. You must find aids in teaching that will not be too far beneath your students' abilities. You might find that making your own piano teaching aids is a good solution in these instances. Use your imagination and your knowledge of your students to create aids that will not only help them learn more but make the process seem like so much fun.
