Plan To Teach Piano
Your Plan To Teach Piano
If you plan to teach piano as the career of your choice then you need to begin as quickly as possible. There is so much more involved in teaching piano professionally than simply learning to play. Most of those who plan to teach piano find that it is a great challenge both mentally, physically, and often financially. It is important that you be realistic about the costs involved when making a plan to teach piano for a living.
The most important thing you can do for yourself and your career if you plan to teach piano is to have a list of goals before you begin your business. You need to have a written list of long term and short-term goals and a road map of how you plan to achieve those goals. Putting your goals on paper provides a greater sense of urgency for achieving them than simply writing them down will give. It also gives you something to go back to and adjust, as you need to. The thing about goals is that they are (hopefully) constantly evolving as you grow as a person and as a piano teacher.
Knowing and having established your goals ahead of time help you establish a plan that is realistically designed to help you achieve those goals. Having your goals written down also allows you the opportunity to brainstorm a solution or plan of action. When you plan to teach piano, you need to be able to plan effectively. Every lesson will need a plan from you; it only makes sense that your business as whole should also have a plan and a direction.
Do you seriously want your business to be exactly where it is today 10 years from now?
If you don't have a plan to effect changes, how can you realistically expect those changes to occur? If you plan to teach piano, you must first have a solid business plan in place.
Most businesses in America fail within the first three years. The number one reason for failure is the lack of a solid, realistic, and attainable business plan of action. Do not allow this to happen to your business as a piano teacher.
You owe it to yourself and your students to make sure that you are charging enough for the lessons you offer. And that you have a plan for growth and expansion, that you actually plan to teach piano as a business rather than a pastime. ...
