Teach Piano Keys

Teach Piano Keys

When teaching piano it is important to teach piano keys early on. There are many aids to help you teach piano keys to your beginning piano students. Stickers are excellent choices for this very problem; they are also a really fun way to help the students learn their keys. This works well for young and older students alike believe it or not and these stickers are rather inexpensive to buy and/or replace. Of course stickers are only one way to teach piano keys to your students, there are many more.

It is important to remember that whatever you are using to teach your students, some students will often learn differently from the student before them. Using stickers to teach piano keys isn't going to be effective for all of your students so you will have to find other options. One of these options is one that you will find on the back of many beginner piano books. This aid comes in the form of a blank keyboard. This is very useful if you have access to a copier or can find other blank keyboards relatively cheaply on paper. You can have your students label each and every key in between lessons until they know all the keys without having to think about them. I love this option to teach piano keys because it doesn't actually impair classroom time and it encourages the discipline of performing tasks outside of the class that you can actually see rather than hear.

You may have to invent your own method to teach piano keys effectively to some students. You probably know your student best and would be the best one to tailor a plan specifically for the needs of your student. If you become excellent at creating lesson plans and study aids for your students, you might have just found a nice side business selling these aids to other students and teachers (who knows?).

Study aids are simply put aids that are designed to help you teach piano keys, scales, notes, and notations that are so necessary when playing the piano. They do not replace actual teaching though and should not overtake your lessons. Some people learn to play the piano best by simply learning to play the piano without aids. Some of the greatest pianists in our history have never read a note of music. Do not get so caught up in teaching one way or thinking that there is only one right way to teach piano keys that you overlook the fact that your student may just learn the keys by associating each key with the sound it makes.
