If you are looking for some great tips on teaching piano, the best tip anyone can give you is to teach from a point of passion rather than a point of dread or tedium. Another of the many great tips on teaching piano is to keep performing. Performing is a musician's first love and if you forget the thrill of performing how you can share that thrill with your students? Performing is also a great way to advertise and keep your name in the public light so that potential students or parents of students are familiar with you and your abilities.
The final of my great tips on teaching piano is to always remind your students how important it is to see other performers. There is something about live music that just can't be experienced over the radio or on television. Live music is so much more passionate than recorded music. It also will allow the students to realize that even professional musicians can make mistakes. Mistakes however are not what matters in music, the way those mistakes are handled is.
