How old do you have to be to teach music lessons?
I need to know how old you have to be and the qualifications, if any, that are needed to teach music lessons…
You need no qualifications and you need not be a certain age to teach an instrument.
However your age, level of experience and qualifications will affect how many people are willing to use you as a teacher – and how much you’ll be able to handle. If you’re teaching beginners then if you have grade 7+ (or equivalent) you shouldn’t have many problems; but it depends how mature you are as a person.
Of course if you want to teach music as a subject in school then you will need more qualifications – these depend on where you are, though a degree in music is pretty standard for state-run schools.
