How to teach beginners piano?

I’m starting to teach piano, and I am teaching a 4 year old, and a 6 year old.

How should I begin class? What should I teach them first?
How do I keep the student interested? What might help them to learn easily?

Focus on the children themselves and not the expectations of their parents. The pace of progress at the beginning is of no relevance because the pace of progress in later years can be astonishing. The main goal is to maintain their joy in the process of exploring music and their instrument.
