I am in the NY area and am new to teaching flute. Any tips on getting more students to teach? Plz help?

I’m 18 years old and am so passionate about flute and piano. Anyone have any tips about starting this kind of business? I wanna do this for a living hopefully! Any help is much appreciated

I also am a flute teacher in the NY area – where are you located? And far more importantly – if you are 18, and *passionate*, are you also highly qualified to teach flute? I can name at least 100 fine flutists in the NY area who have played professionally for many years, have multiple degrees form the finest conservatories, and have decades of teaching experience. I network with them daily through various societies and organizations for professional flutists. These (we!) are your competition. Are you studying with a very fine teacher? You say you want to make this your life – are you applying to any of the numerous fine music colleges in the area? Do you intend to teach under the supervision of your current teacher? I cannot in good conscience advise you about *how to start your business* when I know so very little about you – and have to surmise who you are.
