Tips on teaching piano?
Okay so who has tips on teaching a 17 year old student, proficient in his understanding of music and music theory, piano. He understands music and basic principles and theory, but he just needs to learn piano and get his chops up.
Find out what artists he likes the most and the teach him their songs. Playing my favourite bands’ songs is what got me interested in picking up an instrument.

If you don’t already know then you should not be teaching him. Find a College or University in your area, and have him study with a piano performance graduate student, the cost will be lower and the student teacher will be supervised by a really good performer/pedagogue professor.
