You should deff get reccomendations from your own teacher. Perhaps they can help you find students to teach. If you do well with them and build up your credentials, you will eventually be able to find students on your own. Also look for volunteer opportunities through your guidance counselor. I've known people to find paid work in their chosen field of interest by starting out as volunteers. And no, your age should not be an issue. Some parents may be more comfortable with their child being around a younger person than an adult that they don't know. I wouldn't care peronally. I am 18 and have a 16 year old Martial Arts instructor.

There are several variables at work here.
In general it should be your ability that gets you the job, however it’s not just an issue of knowing the piano, but the ability to teach and this involves not just getting a person interested but keeping them motivated when they get bored, tired, lazy, or frustrated. To a certain extent how that is treated will depend on the student’s ability to learn as well. Because of your age, parents might be concerned about this aspect of the teaching even more than the musical abilities. It could easily depend on the age of the student also. As for an adult as a student, that too depends on the adult’s abilities and how they react to having such a young teacher. Some people can handle that without a second thought, others simply can’t. Some might feel ‘threatened’ or simply feel that you have no ‘empathy’ with their situation.
Most people learn in different ways at different ages. There may be concern that you aren’t old enough to either grasp this or know yet of varied techniques of teaching.
The earlier suggestion to get references is an excellent one. No matter your age, I believe you should be given a reasonable opportunity to try to teach. And although you may be offered less than the rate an adult teacher gets (for the above mentioned reasons), you should not be taken advantage of. There are those who would try, but if you prove yourself, then you should be paid what you are worth.

It depends on how talented the person is. When I was a teenager I had a piano teacher who was in her thirties at the time but she was a child prodigy so when she was a kid she gave piano lessons to make extra spending money. I guess it just depends.

Yeah, as long as your good! I also agree that recomendations are a must because people may misjudge you.

If you were a good teacher you should have no problem gettng a job. Like said before me getting recomendations (spelling?) can not hurt you.

So long as you had impressive credentials to prove that you know your stuff, I think there shouldn't be a problem letting you teach children. Maybe recommendation letters from instructors would help you out
